Field Trip #1

Wednesday, October 12, 2011

We spent this afternoon at the Aldo Leopold Nature Center in Monona learning about, catching and observing insects.

The kids had a blast and we learned a lot!

Did you know that a bug is merely one type of insect?

Did you know that lady bugs are actually called lady beetles?

We caught a lot of insects and baby cat fish in the pond. Kali wasn't sure if he liked the instability of the peer at first.

Cedric was befriended by a fuzzy caterpillar.
It was so cute!

  2. I recall playing with fuzzy caterpillars like that. We called them "wooly bears." I wonder if that's what the teachers at Aldo Leopold call them? I love reading about all the doings of the Room 103 friends. Keep the blog posts coming!
